Please, someone, relate.

I may have posted this before...I don't know. It's isn't even good enough to post about twice (or even once?), but I'll go for it anyway.

That was the year of 2004 or 2005 - when my friend called me Kurr, and it didn't occur to me to mind. That was before Obama got elected, before Amy Winehouse came, when I couldn't wait to join the Society of Technical Communication, and I thought I'd never find a girl as great as Lindsay Blair. That was the year I lived in Cobble Creek.

Oh man, did anyone catch that redo of the first lines of Dirty Dancing? If not, you and I have a problem.

Anyway, the first time I watched Garden State was my sophomore year at USU with my friend Lindsay Blair. I also call her Blurr. Or Blair. Or Guuuuuuurl. I laughed soooooo hard when I saw the scene where the guy shoots a flaming arrow straight up in the air and Zach Braff and Natalie Portman shuffle around while trying to get out of the way.

Please tell me you did that while catching a pop fly. If not, that probably means you're a good outfielder. Or really bad. I dunno...I always stuck to being the catcher, where people threw straight right at me. They called me Pudge. (How many of you get that joke? Stacy...Mom...no one else...)

I'll give into you

Have you seen Country Strong? My mom and I rented it a while ago, and it was ok. I didn't love it, but I liked parts of it. I didn't really think the young guy in it was that cute, but by the end of the movie, he grew on me. I gave into him, I guess. Probably because of this scene:

Another "did you know?"

Did you know Sirius Black...

is also Commissioner Gordon from the Dark Knight?

Well now you do.

Weevil & Shaq

I've been watching Veronica Mars on Netflix while I run on my treadmill, and I just came across something that surprised me. Did you watch Veronica Mars? If not, you won't care about this. Weevil, this guy,...

(from here)

was also Max from Kazaam! Don't act like you never watched Kazaam.

7: Favorite Movies

Let's play a game. I'll post a picture, and you have to guess what movie it is. Answers below.

When I watched this for the first time when I was older, I realized how funny it is and how much I didn't understand it when I was younger.

Day 7

Really? Am I really on day 7? Ok, today's item is nerdy, but I love it, and I know you do too. I KNOW YOU DO.

I couldn't say it more eloquently than Kip Dynamite:
Yes, I love technology,
but not as much as you, you see.
But I still love technology
Always and forever.

I'm thankful for technology. Computers. Internet. Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Printers. Phones. Treadmills. Airplanes. Cars. Heart rate monitors that tell you how many calories you're burning (ok I'm not sure about this yet, but I will soon). Movies. TV. I could go on and on. Internet is probably one of my most favorite things in the world. What can't you find on there? Maybe nude pictures of me (hopefully), but most everything else. Well, hopefully not nude pictures of my mom or my grandma or anyone else I'm related to, but you get the gist.

Always and forever.

*This post made me think of that clip everyone was talking about a while ago called Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy. If you haven't watched it, watch it.

You used to be much more...muchier. You've lost your muchness.

Matt didn't have to work today, and he insisted that we go see Alice in Wonderland in 3D. I always protest because Beck just doesn't do well at movies anymore, so I stress out at any little peep he makes. I ended up watching the movie by myself cause Matt was out with the boy. I assumed they were just at the bottom of the theater, but no, they were out in the hall. The whole time. Oops. But Matt is the best hubby ever (that was for you, Mandie) and didn't mind cause he knew I wanted to see it.

He now agrees with me on the baby/movie situation.

Have you ever seen a movie that you didn't LOVE at the time, but you continue to think about it later, and you want to see it again? That's how I feel about this movie. And I'm now realizing that I may need to be an over-protective mom in the future cause I thought it was kinda violent for a PG movie. Funny how your perspective changes when you become a parent.

The Mad Hatter was my favorite. And I liked the dog. K I need to go see it again...with Matt this time.

Have I mentioned that I CAN'T WAIT??

And it's in 3D too. Who wants to babysit March fifth?

11.05.2009

Remember Remember the Fifth of November

Perhaps I shall watch V for Vendetta tonight. It seems appropriate.

Another Magical Item

Thanks to Mandie, I know about these beauties. I should buy them for my future daughter. Yes, they are TWILIGHT BARBIES!!

10.27.2009

Awesome.

No, your eyes don't lie. This is a Robert Pattinson cross-stitch pattern.

Why so serious?

Matt, Jared, and I went to see Hellboy II tonight, but when we found out that The Dark Knight wasn't sold out, we went to that instead. It made me sad that Heath is gone. At least we can always meet in 10 Things I Hate About You. I won't be meeting him in Brokeback, though. Once was enough, thanks.

Let me tell you how I got these scars...

5.28.2008

Iron Man

You should see Iron Man, even if it's only to see Robert.

2.21.2008

Nocturnal

I told you. It's 2:56 am, and I'm designing stationery while watching Boys on the Side. This movie inspired me to put Roy Orbison -- You Got It on my playlist. Just so you know. Matthew McConaughey is so young and cute in that movie. He has one hard-to-spell last name.

12.23.2007

My faith has waivered

Last night Matt and I saw the controversial movie, The Golden Compass. People that say that others shouldn't see it really have no idea what they're talking about. My favorite part was the huge polar bear, and there he is in the picture below. Go see it! I promise that you will still believe in God when it's over.

Buzz...your girlfriend...woof!

Ok every year around Christmas time, I have to watch a few select movies. One is Christmas Vacation, and the other is Home Alone. I LOOOOOVE Home Alone. I used to be able to quote the whole beginning of the movie verbatim. I think that is where I started remembering everything about movies and quotes from movies. Well, only the ones I like. Anyway, I added some songs from this wonderful movie, but I won't put them to the top of my list until Christmas really starts to get close. I don't want to get sick of those songs, of course. I think all of you should watch this wonderful movie.

"Bless this highly nutritious microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner and the people who sold it on sale. Amen." No, I didn't have that memorized. This is from the part where Kevin is prepared for his visitors and makes himself a candle-lit dinner. The part that bugs me is that he never even takes a bite of his tasty cuisine.
