Day 7

Really? Am I really on day 7? Ok, today's item is nerdy, but I love it, and I know you do too. I KNOW YOU DO.

I couldn't say it more eloquently than Kip Dynamite:
Yes, I love technology,
but not as much as you, you see.
But I still love technology
Always and forever.

I'm thankful for technology. Computers. Internet. Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Printers. Phones. Treadmills. Airplanes. Cars. Heart rate monitors that tell you how many calories you're burning (ok I'm not sure about this yet, but I will soon). Movies. TV. I could go on and on. Internet is probably one of my most favorite things in the world. What can't you find on there? Maybe nude pictures of me (hopefully), but most everything else. Well, hopefully not nude pictures of my mom or my grandma or anyone else I'm related to, but you get the gist.

Always and forever.

*This post made me think of that clip everyone was talking about a while ago called Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy. If you haven't watched it, watch it.

Day 6

Whoops, almost forgot, but I'm still awake, so this counts toward the right day.

Today I am thankful that we got family pictures done for the first time! (That's not entirely true because we got family pics done with Matt's family four years ago, but they sucked, so I don't consider them real family pictures.) My friend Stacy took our pictures a little while ago, and today she put a lot of them on her blog. While I'm not in love with the dress I wore and how it doesn't flatter a certain part of me that I hate, I still like them and can't wait to print some and have pictures on display that aren't from our wedding. Finally! ("it happened to me. right in front of my face and i just can't describe it." are those the right lyrics?)

Here are some of my favorites:

We couldn't kiss publicly in a serious way.
I don't know if we can kiss privately in a serious way.

Thanks, Stussy!

Day 4

I was talking to Mandeigh today and during our conversation, I realized my life's motto.

I love cake.

Every holiday/dinner/celebration needs a cake. Here's my Joey impersonation: Birthday cake? Gooood. Wedding cake? Goooood. Hmmm what other cakes are there? I don't know.

The other day I was telling Matt that the stupid part of Thanksgiving is the pie. So he said I should make a pumpkin cake. Perhaps I will. Perhaps a pumpkin chocolate chip buuuundt cake! (Please say bundt like the lady in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.) I say this because I recently decided that I love (LOVE) pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I think they might be my favorite cookie. I'm thinking about them so much right now that I may have to change my life's motto. This is really shaking me up, so I'm just going to focus on my love for cake.

Noteworthy cakes:

- Aunt Linda's Fudge Cake from the Cheesecake Factory. If you love chocolate, get it.
- Funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting
- red velvet
- cake balls
- most any cake unless it includes nuts or warm pineapple or any other food that I don't enjoy

(Does anyone wonder why my baby weight didn't come off automatically?)

My wedding cake/groom's cake was really good. Each layer was different and equally delish. (Maybe not the carrot cake layer, but blame that on Matt.) Too bad some of it was wasted when it went up my nose. (Again, blame that on Matt.)

If you haven't figure this out yet, today I am thankful for cake (and that I don't have any in my house right now because I'd eat it all). Tomorrow may be pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

Day 3

Hmmm today I am thankful for...my pups. She's such a good dog even though she drives me crazy sometimes. I think everyone with a kid needs a dog. First, the dog will always keep your floors clean, which is even more necessary when you have a kid that drops and throws food all the time. Second, they play together.

She loves to kiss Beck.

And spoon. (Ok, only when we make her.)

And get paint on her each time I paint something.

And yes, she's still wearing her Halloween costume.

Oops, already forgot

I forgot day 2. Let's see...yesterday I was thankful for this guy:

Thankful

Last year on Facebook a lot of people wrote something they were thankful for each day until Thanksgiving, and this year some people are doing that on their blogs. I guess I'll do that too because 1. it's a good thing to do; 2. it makes me blog without really thinking very hard; 3. I want to annoy you. We'll see if I remember to do it.

Day 1: I'm thankful for my monkey boy.

I had to cut out one of those pieces of tape. Not my best mom moment.
