Bad News, Beck

I was on Baby Center and decided to see how tall Beck may be at age 18, according to the Height Predictor. I double and triple checked the info I had to input, and it kept coming up with something I did not expect.

He might end up being short (Sorry, Buddy. My fault.), but I really don't think this is accurate.

Two Years Ago

Shoot, I'm a few minutes too late posting this. This is a post for AUGUST 13.

Well, at 10:48pm Utah time, it was two years ago that I had Beck. Here's the birth story if you want a refresher or never read it.

Happy birthday, babe! You're my favorite munchkin in the world.

P.S. Fun fact: I learned yesterday that the heart problem I had during labor is called tachycardia.

My last day with my one-year-old

Does anyone else have an eye that closes more than the other when you smile?

Mormonland

Beck, my mom, and I went to Utah for about ten days (Beck's last free trip). We were busy the whole time, and I didn't run at all for 12 days. It's hard getting back into it.

I got some dental work done (and a new fun smile).

I saw the jungle my condo now has.

I painted some rooms in my condo (thank you mom, Kaylene, Grandma #4, and William). Goodbye blue and purple.

Beck got to be part of my cousin's son's birthday party and also got a cupcake.

This video is so cute, but I'm not sure if I can make it portrait instead of landscape.

My friends got married. I hooked them up!

My cousin also got married, but I don't have any pictures. I REALLY wish I had a video of my cousin Todd and my mom dancing at the reception. It was goooood. My other cousin goes, "Does your mom embarrass you?" I said, "No, not anymore." He goes, "Well she's embarrassing me."

And now we're back in Texas, meltinggggggg!

14 : A picture you love

Looking back at this photoshoot from last April is funny because Beck is so little and fat. And he only has two teeth! Cute little munchkin.

Thankful

Last year on Facebook a lot of people wrote something they were thankful for each day until Thanksgiving, and this year some people are doing that on their blogs. I guess I'll do that too because 1. it's a good thing to do; 2. it makes me blog without really thinking very hard; 3. I want to annoy you. We'll see if I remember to do it.

Day 1: I'm thankful for my monkey boy.

I had to cut out one of those pieces of tape. Not my best mom moment.

Update on crying it out

It works.

I know, I know, it probably doesn't work on every baby, and I'm probably jinxing myself, but I've been letting Beck cry when he wakes up (in the middle of a nap or after an hour or so after he goes to bed for the night), and get this...he goes back to sleep by himself! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleeeee-luuuuu-jaaah.

By the way, I hope you enjoyed the picture.

A bit dramatic

I spend a lot of time on babycenter.com when I have a baby question. Something I look at a lot is crying it out versus not. (My opinion is in the middle...leaning toward CIO). Here is an excerpt from the anti-CIO side:

The problem is that when infants are left to cry themselves to sleep, they are forced to conclude that they are not lovable enough to engage their parents' desires to comfort them. If they actually stop crying, it is because they have abandoned all hope that help will come.

Seriously? Have you ever been around a baby for more than an hour? Babies can't conclude. Beck isn't thinking, "I have deducted from my experience here in my crib that my parents just don't love me enough to bother." And the "abandon all hope" part was a little much as well. Don't worry, I'm not gonna just throw him in his crib and leave him there for as long as it takes to fall asleep, but I'm also not gonna go sing kumbaya with him.

Olive, come lick this up

Beck spit up. And then put his face in it. And then I held up his face with my man hand so we could take a picture before cleaning it off.

Flashback Friday

This is for all the people that said I had an easy pregnancy.

These are never before seen pictures.

It looks like the fluid that was swelling up my feet was swelling up my face!

Random Tidbit

Here's a piece of info you won't find interesting. It was this date last year that the counting began. November 14th. And this is what I have to show for it.

You like his shirt? And yes, he is wearing mittens. His hands were cold!

Baby Announcements

I designed Beck's announcement and then pretty much substituted my friend's baby's info for her version.

Crafty Kari. That's me.

I followed through and made the tie onesie.

(Don't mind the repitition of pictures...I'm trying to figure out which way I should save the file. One looks like crap when it's small, the other looks like crap when it's blown up. What do I dooooo?)

Blessing Outfit

I'm not a big fan of blessing outfits for boys cause they seem so pansy. Would it be totally stupid to make one of these for the occasion?

Another blog

When someone has their first kid, their blog often becomes all about the baby. Sometimes that's fine, but sometimes it's just annoying. So I have made a blog for Beck. If you want Beck updates, that'll probably be the place to look. Or facebook.

Remember how I was really fat?

Well, I'm less fat now.

There you go, Stacy. :)

Stubs was never as true as it is now

A few people in the past gave me the nickname Stubs or Stubby because of my short, thick fingers and toes. Pregnancy has brought this stubiness to a whole new level. I remind myself of the aunt in Harry Potter that he blows up.

P.S. I bought disposable pads. :) Lansinoh ones.

8.01.2009

a for sure date

You should all know this very important information since I think you're all my facebook buds, but I'm being induced on August 13th...that is less than two weeks away...a week and a day quicker than I had planned. Moving it up a week is quite the jump!

Here's a very nice (interesting) picture I found...

6.12.2009

P.S.

I'm 30 weeks today. The counter even says so.
