Mormonland

Beck, my mom, and I went to Utah for about ten days (Beck's last free trip). We were busy the whole time, and I didn't run at all for 12 days. It's hard getting back into it.

I got some dental work done (and a new fun smile).

I saw the jungle my condo now has.

I painted some rooms in my condo (thank you mom, Kaylene, Grandma #4, and William). Goodbye blue and purple.

Beck got to be part of my cousin's son's birthday party and also got a cupcake.

This video is so cute, but I'm not sure if I can make it portrait instead of landscape.

My friends got married. I hooked them up!

My cousin also got married, but I don't have any pictures. I REALLY wish I had a video of my cousin Todd and my mom dancing at the reception. It was goooood. My other cousin goes, "Does your mom embarrass you?" I said, "No, not anymore." He goes, "Well she's embarrassing me."

And now we're back in Texas, meltinggggggg!

8 : A place you've traveled to

Last night I was looking at pictures of a cruise I went on with Matt and our friends. It was in March 2008, so almost three years ago! I kind of think we need to go again, but to somewhere new (better). We went to Ensenada and Catalina Island. I'm sure some of you have done the same cruise.

We stopped in Vegas for the night.
We're in front of the shark tank at the Golden Nugget.

Classy Vegas.

practicing for Titanic

waiting for dinner, I think.

The group.

Jared sang.

We were walking up this street from the blow hole, and some vendor guys heard me say my friend's name so they started yelling "Ashley!" for her to go over to them. It was funny, but creepy.

Jared wanted to dance, but I didn't really.

Then we stopped in Laguna Niguel on our way home to hang out with my cousin and go to the beach.

Bliss. Haha

Retraction

I would like to write a retraction about my excitement of Popeyes being in Utah. Apparently it's only on Hill AFB, which no one can go to unless you're military! Why do they get us all excited with commercials and then punch us in the face by saying we can't go? I am not pleased. Mother, can you mail me some red beans and rice? Perhaps we can go on Friday between our flight getting into Texas and the rest of our journey to Hawaii??? Yep, we're going to Hawaii...anyone jealous? You should be! Suckers.

The first time I've felt compelled to go to Africa

which seems very coincidental since I just finished singing "I just can't wait to be king."

"In Zimbabwe, Africa, you will find the magnificent Victoria Falls at a height of 128m. The location is known as 'The Devil's Swimming Pool.'

During the months of September and December, people can swim as close as possible to the edge of the falls without falling over!

These falls are becoming well known amongst the "radical tourist" industry as more and more people search for the ultimate experience. Would you dare?"

I would.

I ain't dead

I'm just in the great land of Texas fer a while. My mom and I have been trying to persuade Matt (and Jared) that Texas is better than Utah. Unfortunately, coming down here in August won't help the cause. So far we've done a lot:
  • Six Flags
  • downtown Fort Worth, which included dinner, seeing my brother's topless, blown up, and signed picture in a bar, and a piano bar
  • the Alamo and Riverwalk
  • Schlitterbaun (waterpark)

That last one means I have a new sunburn. But no picture as of now.

Not many Six Flags pics to choose from.

Remember to remember it.

Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk

Proof that we went to Schlitterbaun. Well, there's no proof I was there.

Coming home means that I visited Brandon, who now resides on a shelf at my parents' house. For the past 11ish months he's been in some box (not a shoebox or anything), but I think that soon he'll be upgrading to a stylish urn. It's my first time saying what's up since the funeral.

My mom wants me to mention that she is a really good driver and that I am proud of her for still driving on the freeways since she now qualifies for a senior ticket at Schlitterbaun. Really, maybe she shouldn't be on the freeways in her old age...

Colorado or bust

I'm so annoyed right now. Everything on this post will probably look all funky cause it's doing the spacing how it wants. I tried. I failed. I'm sorry.

We went to Colorado with Matt's family over the 4th of July weekend, so this is what we looked like during it all...

Why I Married Matt

I think I married Matt because he went on his mission to London. I think I may be obsessed with England and quite possibly all of Britain. I found this website, and I don't that's helping me much. Last night we went to dinner with one of Matt's mission companions and his wife. There were a lot of times where I had no idea what they were saying and then they had to translate. Sooo I want to move there. Maybe into this neighborhood....
Or maybe to Privet Drive next to the Dursleys.

I'm goin' back to Cali, Cali, Cali

I'm goin' back to Cali. I don't think so. (That's a song for you old people) No, wait, I really am. I'll be there next weekend and the next! (Before and after our cruise)

So I went to California for my cousin's other grandma's funeral, but some exciting things happened. One of my favorites was when all the girls went to see 27 Dresses at the mall. First of all, eight of us were in Lori's sequoia, and we were driving in the parking garage. I saw that behind us was an ambulance, so I told Lori about it. She kept trying to move out of his way, but she wasn't on the RIGHT, so he kept honking at her. Finally she found a place to pull over on the RIGHT, so then he went around. We found a spot then went into the mall, and when we got to the ticket office, there were two guys sitting on the floor with handcuffs with blood all over the floor in front of them. Mandie said she bet it was a fight, but I thought it looked like too much blood for just fists. A girl that worked there told Lori that one gang member saw a guy from another gang and stabbed him. So that's the exciting stuff we got to see in California! It was more exciting than the movie.

My cousin Kelly and I acted like 14 yr old girls during this trip and texted each other while sitting side-by-side in the back of the car. It was top secret stuff we were chatting about. We were referred to as the teenagers, and were not held responsible when we passed the exit on the freeway. Here's some pictures of my new bff and me.

At the beginning of the trip when Kelly looked young. (Disregard me)

At the end of the trip when Kelly looks old. (So she says.)

Grandma: Don't you show that picture to anyone...they'll think I'm retarded!
Eh, she won't know. I think it's funny!

Flashback Friday

I'm running out of old pictures. Here's one from the very beginning of my sophomore year at USU. I went with my cousin Todd, my brother from another mother Tony, and Todd's friend Ryan to Jackson Hole to raft down the Snake River. We didn't meet Kevin Bacon or get taken hostage by anyone. I refused to wear the wet suit pants (cause I would look hideous in them), but I paid for that. I wore cotton shorts, which made my muscles tense up like I've never had before. I could barely walk when we got done. Next time I will wear the wet suit.

I really enjoy the person in back of us looking out into the distance. Todd and I gave this picture to our grandma for her birthday. Just the picture.

Speaking of ole Toddy, I'm gonna see him today. I'm leaving to go to California for his grandma's funeral, so I won't be on here for a while. Like you care. Tata.

P.S. answer my survey thing on the right. gracias!

Cruisin'

Last weekend Matt, our friend Jared, and I decided to go on a trip for spring break. (Can you still have spring break when you're not in school anymore? ok for Matt's spring break.) We decided on a cruise cause it's probably the cheapest, and we invited some friends. Today was the big day of getting our reservations. Because it was so close to the departure day (March 10), we had to pay in full. Ouch. This takes me back to our honeymoon cause we went on a cruise then. Honestly it wasn't that fun, but we figured it would be if we started drinking or brought friends. So we're bringing friends. Maybe we'll start drinking too. :) Here are some pics of our last cruise. I was a lot skinnier then...I had my wedding as inspiration. I haven't worked out continuously since. And it shows. But anyway...the pictures...

No, that's not bird poo.

My favorite part. The food. Look--my legs are tan. And smooth. Two things my legs are not right now. That's a lie. I shaved yesterday--first time in a while. :)

Note to self: buy sunglasses and don't lose them after one day.
