Matt & I got engaged two years ago today. Wanna hear the story? Ok. Well we were already planning stuff, but we hadn't been formally engaged to yet. So my dad came up to Utah (kinda so Matt could ask him if he could ask me...I know, we were already planning, but you gotta do it, right?). Matt and my dad met for the first time in Target as we were registering for presents. That night (or the next night...I don't remember) we went to dinner with his parents (and and little brother Curt) and my parents. Then we dropped my parents off at my grandma's in Brigham, but Matt made me go sit in the car. I knew what was going on, and I was really nervous for him. I could see Matt standing through the very small area between the window pane and the blinds, and he kept rocking back and forth. I kept thinking, "Hold still! Stop being nervous!" So then he came back and we drove to Logan. I didn't expect anything to happen cause the ring wasn't supposed to be ready for about a week.
He dropped me off at my condo and then went over to our friend Jared's to change or something. When he came back, I was in my pajamas, curled up in Jessi's love sac, and watching TV. He came down and was like, "Let's go." I whined and protested. He was like, "I'm hungry, let's go get food." I resisted. Finally he said, "Let's go to Smiths and get something to make for dessert tomorrow to take to dinner." I consented. On the way to Smiths, he got pulled over for having only one headlight, and the cop actually asked him if he'd been drinking cause the air in the car smelled like alchohol. Not sure why. Anyway, we went to Smiths. When we got in the car, I was like, "Ok, let's go home now!" Matt said, "Let's go see if it's True Aggie Night." We never became true aggies together, but I always wanted to. I don't know if I thought that we'd become true aggies that night since I had a huge, beautiful cold sore. So we drove up to Old Main, and no, no one was there. So I whined and wanted to go home cause it was fricken freezing. Matt was like, "Let's just run around and get warm." He came around to my door to open it while I tried locking him out, but the locks were too smart for me. So he opened the door and forced me to run. So we ran from the Family Life building north, then towards Old Main, and I turned left to go towards the Ray B West building so I could get back to my car, and I turned around to make sure Matt was following me, but he wasn't. He was standing at the intersection of sidewalk, which is in the middle of the quad. He had his arms stretched out like I should go back and hug him. So I did. And so the speech began. So blah blah blah, he said his speech, he pulled something out of his coat pocket and got down on his knee. He asked, I jumped up and down and said yes. I pulled the ring out myself and put it on. I didn't really know if I should wait for him or what, so I just did it myself. There was no kissing because of the lovely cold sore. Just picture how pretty I was that night with that monster on my lip and my pajamas.
The End.

Congratulations on your 2nd year as a couple! Your story made me smile as I remembered everything and I loved the ending! You know it's "true love" when the girl of your dreams is sportin' a cold sore and tacky pajamas!
